Grenfell Reborn is a proposal for the remnants of the tower from a father who lost his baby in the tower who wanted to see the tower transformed with life. ‘out of these ashes must come life’ says Marcio Gomes who lost baby Logan. The idea is to support the structure, preserve as much of it as possible and let nature reframe and reimagine this catastrophe as a symbol of resilience never to be forgotten. It would be planted with 72 species of trees and plants in memory of the victims. This idea has the support of Grenfell Next of Kin, survivors and community around the Tower who were inspired by the Vertical Forest buildings in Milan after the Gomes family shared their idea with the community.
